March 2004 / Strategic media campaign

A story with
a strategy.

Goswick & Associates brought strategic planning, journalist relationships, a VIP event, and precisely timed television advertising together to elevate The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch in a competitive luxury golf community market.

The objective was to create a compelling news story that would distinguish the Boerne community, reach prospective buyers, and build sales momentum. The campaign connected the development to the wider story of golf, luxury real estate, and the designers shaping that market.

01 / Strategic vision

Build the broader story.

GO worked with a real estate journalist on a category story that included golf course designers and competing developments associated with names such as Tom Fazio and Jack Nicklaus. This gave Cordillera Ranch a relevant place in a larger industry conversation.

02 / Personal engagement

Let journalists experience it.

A Bloomberg News journalist was selected for outreach because of her reach, reporting experience, and credibility. GO coordinated her visit to a VIP event with approximately 300 attendees, including golf personalities and key figures, so she could experience the community firsthand.

03 / Timing & coordination

Meet the moment.

Coverage appeared on the cover of the San Antonio Express-News Business Section on April 4, 2004, as San Antonio hosted the NCAA Final Four. Paid television commercials followed during The Masters on April 10 and 11 in key markets.

The GO approach

Relationships.
Narrative. Timing.

The campaign shows how personal engagement, a strong category story, and coordinated timing can work together to build visibility and real estate demand. News coverage established reach and context; the VIP event brought the community to life; television advertising reinforced the message.

For GO, the lesson remains practical: connect the right people, tell a story that matters to the audience, and coordinate every element around a clear business objective.
